Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love will not be medically cleared for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Love reportedly lobbied to be activated, but the team told him that the soonest he could be cleared would be ahead of Game 4 on Friday.
The Cavaliers placed Love under the league's concussion protocol after he took a hard elbow to the head in Game 2. Love stayed in the game momentarily and showed no concussive signs during halftime according to the team, but he eventually check himself out during the third quarter on account of dizziness.
Love skipped practice on Tuesday and was only a limited participant during morning shootaround on Wednesday.
The Cavaliers haven't announced the impending lineup change to the starting five, but veteran forward Richard Jefferson was also spotted wearing a starters' jersey after morning shootaround.
The Golden State Warriors hold a 2-0 series lead.
