The Toronto Raptors are closing in on a three-year contract extension with Dwane Casey that will sign the head coach through 2020, according to Sportsnet's Dave Zarum, citing sources.
Casey's existing deal expires after next season, and extending the longest-tenured coach in franchise history has been expected since the Raptors took the Cleveland Cavaliers to a sixth game of the Eastern Conference finals.
Casey took the reins of the Raptors in 2011 and last signed an extension in 2014. The 59-year-old is also the winningest coach in team history and the fourth-longest tenured bench boss currently in the NBA.
